Payment Methods & Payouts

Set up your payout method and understand how DIMBER gets your money to you every month — M-PESA, Airtel Money, or bank transfer

Configure how DIMBER pays you

Set up how DIMBER sends your royalties, then use the same page to understand regional payout options, monthly payout timing, and minimum thresholds. Whether you are based in Kenya or abroad, your payout setup determines how your earnings move once they are ready to be paid.

Payout methods by region

DIMBER supports different payout methods depending on where you are based. The available options are designed around how artists and labels usually receive money in their region.

Kenyan clients

Kenyan artists and labels can receive payouts through M-PESA, Airtel Money, or bank transfer. All three methods are fully supported.

This is intentional. Mobile money is a core part of how Kenya moves money day to day, so DIMBER supports the payout methods Kenyan artists already use instead of forcing every payout through a bank account.

International clients

International artists and labels receive payouts through bank transfer only. If you are outside Kenya, set up your bank details carefully and make sure the account can receive cross-border payments.

International artists should ensure their bank details are accurate and that their bank can receive international transfers. Incorrect or incomplete bank details are the most common cause of payout delays.

Setting up payment details

Use your DIMBER dashboard to choose a payout method and save the details DIMBER should use for future royalty payments.

Log into your DIMBER account.

Navigate to Payment Settings

Go to the payment settings section in your dashboard.

Select Your Payout Method

Choose M-PESA, Airtel Money, or bank transfer if you are a Kenyan client. If you are an international client, choose bank transfer.

Enter Your Details

Enter the details for your selected method. Use your mobile number for mobile wallet payouts, or enter your bank account information for bank transfer payouts.

Verify Your Details

Check every field before you continue. Confirm your mobile number, account number, bank name, and any required banking codes are correct.

Save

Save your payment configuration. DIMBER will use these details for all future payouts unless you update them.

Verifying your payment details

Correct payout details prevent avoidable delays. A single wrong digit in a mobile number or account number is enough to stop a payout from going through.

Review your payment details any time you change phone numbers, switch banks, open a new account, or update the legal name tied to your payment method. If your payout method no longer matches your current account, update it before the next payout cycle begins.

Incorrect payment details will cause failed payouts and delays. A failed payout does not disappear — it is held until the details are corrected — but fixing the details and reprocessing takes time. Get it right the first time.

Minimum payout thresholds

DIMBER only processes payouts when your earnings meet the minimum threshold for your selected payout method. The threshold can differ depending on whether you are being paid through mobile money or bank transfer.

If your earnings do not reach the required minimum in a given month, DIMBER does not remove or reset the balance. Your unpaid earnings stay on your account and carry forward into the next payout cycle.

If your earnings don't reach the minimum threshold this month, they roll over to the next cycle. No money is lost — it accumulates until the threshold is met.

Payout schedule

DIMBER processes payouts once per month. After royalties are calculated for the payout cycle, eligible balances are sent using the payment method saved on your account.

Payout timing follows DIMBER's monthly royalty cycle, so statement timing and payout timing are connected. For a full breakdown of how earnings are reported and when they appear, read How Royalties Work.

Currency and tax considerations

Payouts to Kenyan clients are typically sent in KES. International clients usually receive payouts in their local currency or USD, depending on their bank and region.

You remain responsible for your own tax reporting and payment obligations. DIMBER does not withhold taxes unless Kenyan law requires withholding for a specific payment.

Artists are responsible for their own tax obligations. DIMBER recommends consulting a tax professional in your jurisdiction to understand your filing requirements.

When payment details change

Update your payment details before the payout processing window whenever possible. Early updates give DIMBER time to use the new information in the current cycle.

If you change your details after payout processing has already started, DIMBER may not be able to apply the update until the next monthly payout. That timing can delay payment even when your earnings are otherwise ready.

Changing payment details right before a payout may cause that month's payout to be delayed. Make changes well in advance of the payout window.
